As most of you know, my teaching contract was not renewed for next year. Our district had a levy that failed and our state [Ohio] is also going through a lot of budget cuts in education due to Senate Bill 5. Anyway, our district has worked hard to find new assignments for all of the teachers who were RIF'ed (RIF = Reduction in Force). Unfortunately, since my position was government funded (Title I) and not district funded, I was not offered a new placement. All of the teachers have now been placed due to transfers, resignations, retirements, etc. Because of this, our district is going to have some (not sure how many) extra openings. I am now able to apply for a transfer for any openings since I am technically still in contract.
GOOD NEWS: Two jobs posted on our internal server today and I'm very excited. One is 1st grade at an elementary that is on the way to my old building (a.k.a. VERY close to home). The other is a part-time Kindergarten position at another school very close to home! I think that my transfer form guarantees me an interview, but I'm not 100% positive. Either way, I'm really trying to stay positive about this, yet not get too excited. I'm hoping that not many people would want to transfer into a part-time position so that could be good for me, right?
Anyway, my point is....PLEASE keep your fingers crossed for me! :)

It is great to be cautiously optimistic. I hope you get a spot. :)
Yay! I will cross my fingers for you! What schools are they at??
PS-hope you saw my dolphins post from a couple days ago! it had all the pics :)
Ugh! I too am on the job hunt for teaching positions in OH. It sucks, I know! Having moved here less than a year ago my networking is not up to par to get the skinny on internal afiars of districts in the area.
I will be praying for you. This time sucks, and is so stressful. I hope you have something relaxing to take your mind off of it! Thinking of you
Fingers and toes crossed!!! Do the same for me please! :)
