Another Award!

The lovely Michelle over at Brunette & Blessed gave me a blog award!  Apparently she digs my blog. :)  That's cool b/c I dig her blog, too!
Thank the person who gave you the award.
Thank you so much, Michelle!  You are so sweet to think of me and I love reading about your adventures in Cbus! :)

Share three random facts about yourself.
1. I am a huge book nerd.  I love reading books and cannot convince myself to get a Kindle.  I get most of my books at the library, but I have quite the collection at home, too.  Some of my favorite authors include James Patterson, Harlan Coben, Nicholas Sparks, and Jodi Picoult.  Don't even get me started on children's books.....obsessed!

2. I am one of those people who is almost never satisfied with the temperature.  I'm not one to complain but my "comfort range" is probably a range of 5-10 degrees.  No joke.  I am usually cold or hot, rarely "just perfect".  That's just how it is!  The one place where I felt "just perfect" almost always was in Hawaii during our honeymoon.  I swear it never got too hot there and it never got cold (unless you were in A/C)!

3. I can't live without Target.  This one really doesn't need an explanation, but in case you don't understand.....dollar spot, Starbucks, clothing, groceries, home decor, beauty products, accessories.  I can get it all and it's affordable!  Walking into Target makes me feel happy.  I'm lucky enough to have 2 Targets within 5.5 miles of my house...one is less than 5 minutes.  SCORE!

7 Favorite (non-teaching) things.....

I'm linking up with Katie of Persnickety Pickles to share 7 of my favorite things.....non-teaching!

1. My wonderful hubby!  He's my best friend and he makes me so happy every day.  Still not sure what I did to deserve him but I feel so lucky! <3
2. My family.  Of course, I love ALL of my family, but I'm lucky to be super-extra close to my mom and my sis.  I love having that close family relationship where I can talk to them about anything and call them at any hour of the night if I need to.  <3 you guys!!
We're twins, I know!

3. My pups.  These babydolls ARE my kids right now!  They are beyond spoiled and I love them like crazy.  They always make me happy!
4. Coffee and/or caffeine.  I seriously don't know what I'll do when I am prego.  I have an addiction and I need my coffee in the morning!  Any caffeine will probably do, but I prefer some coffee with flavored creamer.  If I'm not in the mood to be so frugal, I love my Starbucks, too!
5. Target.  Seriously, I have two locations within about 7 minutes from my house.  Do I even have to explain why Target is so great to me?!  The dollar spot, the clothes, the shoes, the home decor, the food, the prices.  And have I mentioned that both stores close to me have a Starbucks inside?!  Love Target.  I'm going today with my sis and I can't wait!
 6. My girlfriends.  I love these girls and I can't imagine life without some of them!  Every time we hang out, we have so much fun and I love them for that!  We're the type of friends where if we don't see each other for a while, we pick up right where we left off.  Love that!  (obviously I prefer to see them always though!)
Super old picture, but it's hard to find one of everyone!
7. I would have to say my phone.  It sounds dumb but I love that I can do pretty much anything with it anywhere I am.  I can check my email, check my blog, get online, play games (Angry Birds, anyone?), listen to my music, get GPS directions when I get lost, snap a few pictures, text my friends, call my family........seriously!  I can't live without this anymore!
Photo courtesy of Google but it looks JUST like my phone!

My addictions.....

These are a few of my favorite things.....!  Obviously I'd be wrong not to mention my wonderful hubby or adorable doggies ....so, here are a few pictures of the man and fur-babies I can't live without.
There are also some material things that I am currently obsessed with.  I'm not saying I'm super materialistic but these items really help me to get through my days - especially at school!  So here are 10 things that I couldn't live without (at this time....haha)!

1. Coffee.  Starbucks is the best but I often get Tim Hortons in an attempt to save some $.  I only buy these things 1-3 times each week.  On those other days, I use creamer at home or work.  Yum!
 2. Google.  I. Google. Everything.  Literally!  I have a natural curiosity that I can't ignore.  If I'm curious, I will google.  On my phone, on my desktop, on my laptop - anywhere I can google!  I <3 Google.  And yes, Google is a noun and verb in my life.

 3. Chapstick.  I can't live without this stuff, especially in the winter.  I have one in my purse, one on my nightstand, one at my vanity, one in my desk drawer.....the list goes on!  For some reason, I'm always worried I'll lose one and I just can't handle that.  Nivea is my favorite but I occasionally use Burt's Bees as well.

 4. Target.  I have a total Target addiction.  If I don't go there at least once each week, I don't feel fulfilled!  I can't go to Target without checking the dollar spot.  I love how Target has everything!  There is a Target less than 5 minutes from my house AND it has a Starbucks in the store.  Heaven.
5. My Sedu flat iron.  I could probably live without this but I wouldn't choose to!  I love that I can wake up with total bed head after showing in the evening and then smooth out all the messies!  My new curling iron is fun too but I can definitely live without it since I wear my hair straight most days.

6. Clorox Wipes. At home, I just use a spray bottle (usually Clorox GreenWorks natural, all purpose cleaner).  At school, I love these Clorox wipes!  I prefer lemon scented, so fresh!  The kids love to use these as well and they're so handy!

7. Candles.  I love burning candles!  Sitting in a candlelit room is so relaxing and Bath & Body Works has some amazing scents!  I love the Slatkin & Co. candles at Bath & Body Works.  I usually try to get the 2 for $20 deal and stock up on some good scents.  Right now, I have quite a few in my cabinet so I'm trying to avoid Bath & Body for a while. :)
8. Anti-Stress Lotion.  I love any Johnson's product for the affordability and quality.  I have sensitive skin and Johnson's is great for that!  My favorite lotion lately is their 'Melt Away Stress' body lotion.  I buy a trial size in the travel aisle of Target for $1 and just use it as hand lotion.  The scent isn't overwhelming at all but it really is relaxing!
9. Containers.  I'm not sure why, but I love to put everything into containers.  At home, I don't have as many containers but I do have a lot of drawer organizers.  My husband makes fun of me for putting organizers in our "junk" drawers.  At school, it's another story.  EVERYTHING has it's place and most of the time, that place is a container!  I've found some great deals on Sterilite drawer cards and file boxes at Big Lots.  Target has a lot of book boxes and other school-related containers.  Having everything "contained" just makes me feel better.  I know, I'm weird.
10. School Supplies.  I've always loved buying school supplies.  Aren't new pens so exciting?!  I got a few gift cards to a teacher store near by and I can't wait to go use them!  I get overly excited about stuff for my classroom or crafting stuff for home.  I'm a nerd.  For Christmas, my amazing hubby bought me an easel!  I can't really use it in my small reading room this year but *hopefully* I can use it in my own classroom next year.....with my first graders(?!)......fingers crossed. :)

These are a few of my favorite things....

Day 6 - 20 of my favorite things.  They should have called this challenge the "favorite" challenge.  I'm getting annoyed with it!  Anyway, here we go...

  1. My husband <3  (I know, corny! I can't live without him, though!)
  2. My doggies.  They're the best cuddle monsters!
  3. My family and friends :)
  4. Mascara.  Without this, I would always have tired eyes!
  5. Caffeine. Can't. Live. Without. It!
  6. The Internet.  Seriously, when I have a question, I get online.  When I'm bored, I get online.  When I want to talk to my friends, I shoot them an email.  I can't live without the internet anymore!
  7. Double Chocolate Milano cookies.  This is a new obsession of mine.  I always need a bag in the freezer!
  8. My flat iron - the easiest way to cure a bad hair day!
  9.  Labelmakers.  I love organization and I have to resist from labeling everything in my house!
  10. Containers.  I have yet to visit The Container Store because I know I would spend every dime I have.  Putting everything into little containers makes me happy for some reason.
  11. Nivea chapstick.  I go through tubes of this like crazy, love it!
  12. Coupons/Sales!  I am a bargain queen and I can't resist a good deal :)
  13. The beach.  I love laying in the warm sun and listening to the waves crash and the birds chirp...HEAVEN!
  14. Fresh baked cookies...delish!
  15. My job.  I'm lucky to have a job that I love...it is probably one of the most rewarding careers out there!
  16. My ipod.
  17. DVR. How did I ever live without this?!
  18. Jewelry.  Although I never go crazy with accessories (I'm known to almost always wear silver everything!) I can't leave the house without at least earrings!
  19. Target.  How could I almost forget about this?  Target is my favorite "everything" store. There is one a few minutes from my house and I'm there way too often!
  20. Shopping.  Retail therapy is the best!  Lately I've been searching for some new work clothes.  My new job is a little more casual than I'm used to so I need to adjust my wardrobe a bit :)
Now I need to brag about a deal I found (see, #12 is true)!  Nick & I were at Bed Bath & Beyond returning a gift and I spotted some patio chairs (reclining "relaxers") outside on clearance.  I've had my eye on these chairs for a while but they were originally $60 so I never bothered to look twice.  Now they were on clearance for $29.99!  I decided I needed to go back with two 20% off coupons.  I also discovered I had a $25 gift card left over from my birthday so my total (for TWO chairs) was only $26 out of pocket!  Score.  I can't wait to lay out next summer :)
